In the movie Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny; Jack Black and Kyle Gass form the band Tenacious D and go on a quest in search of the Pick of Destiny which every legendary guitarist has used (only in the movie). JB and KG find the Pick of Destiny after a long journey and are on their way to a gig they have set up as they desperately need to pay their rent and they look to prove that they are the greatest band in the world, however the two arrive at the venue and fight over who should use the pick only to end up breaking the pick. The guy working at the bar tells them they don’t need the pick to play good music so they walk into the bar to get their stage stuff set up, meanwhile the guard outside that they just talked to turns out to be Satan as he uses his power with the pick of destiny to complete himself by reattaching his tooth with the pick. JB and KG go back outside looking for the pick as they decide to both use it now that it is split in half but they are confronted by Satan who is now “complete”. As they are certain to go to hell; they challenge Satan to a rock off on the terms that if they win Satan must return to hell and pay their rent and if Satan wins he can take KG to hell with him. After Satan rocks out JB and KG fight him back with their music though they perform admirably they still lose. As Satan fires lightning at KG; JB intervenes and deflects the lightning with his guitar back at Satan breaking his horn off making him incomplete giving them the power to send him back to hell. This is one of the most memorable movie scenes I have ever seen because it is funny and because it was a scenario where two men are confronted by the devil and have no choice but to fight back which they do and they find a way to win and send him back to hell.

If I could send one message to the world; I would tell the whole world that football is the greatest sport ever played because it is a true man’s sport via twitter. I would send this message to the world via twitter because alot of people are staying up to date with each other whether they are celebrities or average Joe’s when they tweet the latest news. I rarely use my twitter because I never have any exciting news but if I were a celebrity whether I’m a pro athlete or rockstar I would compete with the whole world to have the most followers on twitter and tweet all the exciting news I have and see how many tweetbacks I get.
The music that is most important and memorable in my life is 80’s thrash and speed metal. I love all kinds of music but I love hardcore metal music new and old. But 80’s metal is most memorable because that is what I grew up listening to. I was born and raised in Southern California where thrash metal bands were making a name for themselves such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax. My dad was a true metalhead who used to have long hair like everyone did in the 80’s. Anytime he would take me to school he always had something like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Dio, Megadeth, etc. playing in the car. I began to enjoy the music, I really loved the aggresive edgy feel too it. Bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax have had a huge influence on metal bands today like Slipknot, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, etc. I think the thrash and speed metal from the 80’s was important in shaping the metal we have today. My dad loves all kinds of metal and when he was my age he worshipped the metal during his time the same way I do with the metal of my time. My dad’s favorite band in college was Iron Maiden which he saw in concert about 6 or 7 times, he first saw them on the Killers tour back in 1981, Killers was their second album released at the time. I saw Iron Maiden about 4 years ago with my dad and I thought they were great but they were probably not as good as they were back in the day. I am thankful to have a dad that listens to such awesome music and I hope when I have kids someday they will like the same kind of music.
In today’s world of dying payphones and landlines, it is impossible to survive without a cell phone. Cell phones have gone from simple mobile phones to revolutionary smartphones. I remember when I got my first phone, a ghetto lg flip phone without a camera that my Grandma passed on to me, my Grandma can barely manage a cell phone. My next phone was only a step better with a camera included. My next phone was a voyager which was the hot phone on the market, I enjoyed it for a while but after using it for quite a while it started to break and have problems so I upgraded to a Droid. When I bought my Droid I had to get a new phone; I was eligible for an upgrade and my Voyager was pretty much done. I really wanted to get an Iphone but money was an issue so I got a Droid. I loved my Droid for quite a while but now it is starting to fade; the battery life sucks, the service is slow sometimes, and it freezes or delays things often. I am almost due for an upgrade and I am considering an Iphone. It doesn’t matter what kind of phone you have because after a while you just get tired of it no matter how good of a phone it is because it is just not the same phone that you bought two years ago. Despite, the fact we have all these great luxuries we tend to complain because if what we have is not the best then we don’t really want it we want it. Noone wants an Iphone 4 anymore everyone wants an Iphone 5. Nobody cares about xbox anymore, it’s all about xbox 360. Technology is constantly improving each year as every aspect of technology goes to a whole nother world.
